On Tuesday last week, I rock up to uni, only to be told to "come to Lisa's lab at 1pm and come hungry." Interesting. So come 1pm, Lila, Nathan and myself (buddies from uni) all go to the lab to find out that Lisa, along with David (the two lab heads of the molecular neurobiology lab) and Rob (just finished his PhD) wanted to take the three of us - as we had shown interest in their honours projects - out to lunch (and pay for us) to talk to us about next year, find out what we are interested in studying, and to get to know us!
So we went to lunch at the Uni Staff Club and talked to the three of them for about an hour and a half about honours, their research, what they are interested in (life and science) and their opinions of scientific debates. It was very interesting and informative, and really, pretty cool!
